Irish set for three at Boston College

Irish fans thinking sweep at Boston College this weekend?

Notre Dame remains in quite the race atop the ACC Coastal Division standings with Louisville as the two boost nearly identical winning percentages in conference play with the Cardinals holding a slight edge in the department, from .700 to .696.

This weekend doesn’t just present a winnable series for Notre Dame, but a potentially sweepable one as the Irish are at Boston College for three games this weekend and the Eagles have gone just 5-16 in ACC play to date and have lost 12 of their last 15.

Meanwhile the Irish have been outstanding away from home this season as they’ve compiled a 9-3 record away from Eck Stadium.

Golden Eagles centerfielder Sal Frelick is a name to watch this weekend as he’s compiled the second-most hits in the ACC so far this season.

One statistic to especially note is Boston College’s pitching struggles as their team ERA of 6.48 is the worst by over a full run in the ACC this season.

The action gets underway Friday evening at Boston College as the Irish and Eagles meet at 5:30 p.m. ET.  Saturday’s first pitch comes at 3 p.m. ET while Sunday’s series finale gets started at 12 p.m. ET.

You can watch all three games on ACC Network Extra.
