Iowa junior kicker Drew Stevens enjoyed a historic day during the Hawkeyes’ 29-13 win at Maryland in Week 13.
Stevens booted through a career-high five field goals in the win from 27, 54, 50, 49 and 26 yards. Stevens’ five made field goals tied Iowa’s single-game record set by Kyle Schlicher in 2004. It also tied the SECU Stadium record.
The 54-yard make matched Stevens’ career-long and he became the first Iowa player with two 50-plus yard makes in the same game since 1998.
The 6-foot, 205 pound kicker even got in on the mix with the kickoff coverage unit. Stevens registered a solo tackle as he ripped Josiah McLaurin down and out of bounds.
As a result of his big day, Stevens was honored as the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. It’s the third weekly honor of Stevens’ Hawkeye career.

It’s the second time this season and the fourth time in his career that Stevens has made at least four field goals in a game. Stevens knocked through four field goals in Iowa’s 40-16 win over Washington from 37, 46, 25 and 51 yards.
Stevens now has seven career makes from 50-plus yards which is an Iowa school record.
Stevens joins Iowa junior running back Kaleb Johnson (Minnesota, Wisconsin), junior defensive lineman Aaron Graves (Washington) and senior return specialist Kaden Wetjen (Northwestern) as Hawkeyes that have been recognized with Big Ten weekly honors during this 2024 season.
