The No. 3 Iowa women’s basketball team returns to the floor tonight as they invade a sold out Hilton Coliseum to take on rival Iowa State.
Iowa (8-1) has won five straight and is coming off a dominant 99-65 win over Bowling Green. Senior guard Caitlin Clark registered her 47th career double-double in the win over the Falcons, tallying 24 points on 10-of-20 shooting and dishing out 11 assists.
Meanwhile, redshirt junior center Sharon Goodman collected her first career double-double, netting 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting and pulling down 11 rebounds.
Junior guard Sydney Affolter authored a career performance, too. The 5-foot-11 guard tied her career high with 14 points on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting day.
Graduate guard Kate Martin added 17 points and junior center Addison O’Grady rounded out the Hawkeyes’ double-figure scorers with 10 points.
Iowa State (4-3) comes into tonight having won back-to-back contests over St. Thomas (85-44) and UNCW (85-58). The Cyclones have suffered losses at Drake (85-73) and versus Vanderbilt (68-53) and Syracuse (81-69) in Las Vegas, Nev., as part of the South Point Shootout.
Iowa has won six out of the past seven Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series battles against Iowa State.
