It’s been a little more than six months since Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes graced our television screens during an NCAA Tournament run for the ages.
Clark and Co. made history during that march the national championship game versus LSU. The West Des Moines product canned a tournament record eight 3-pointers in the national championship game and registered tournament records of 191 points and 60 assists during the Hawkeyes’ NCAA Tournament run.
Now, Iowa returns and makes some more history right off the bat. The Hawkeyes welcome in the DePaul Blue Demons today for the Crossover at Kinnick exhibition.
It will be a record crowd for women’s college basketball. The previous all-time attendance high of 29,619 was established at the 2002 national championship game between Connecticut and Oklahoma.
At last check on Thursday afternoon, Iowa had sold around 52,000 tickets for the event. All net proceeds of the event will go to support the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
