Iowa Hawkeyes, Ohio State Buckeyes steady in CBS Sports’ 134 college football rankings

The Hawkeyes and the Buckeyes hold rather steady with kickoff approaching.

The Iowa Hawkeyes were on a bye week and did not have much in their control for their movement in any polls or rankings. Their next opponent, the Ohio State Buckeyes, handled their business with a road win over Michigan State to stay near the top of the polls and rankings.

With kickoff approaching each day, the Hawkeyes and the Buckeyes are on a collision course that will get prime-time coverage. Ohio State is a betting favorite in this one as the No. 3 team in America and is going to be a test for Iowa.

While Ohio State is expected by many to win and move to 5-0 on their march to the College Football Playoff, Iowa is looking for a flagship win that they have not had in a few years. Taking down the Buckeyes at home would be that win.

As these two teams get ready for their second Big Ten game of the season, their spots in the CBS Sports 134 college football rankings have held rather steady.

Iowa, who is rested coming off their bye week, did see a minor slip and is sitting at No. 29 in the nation, two spots below where they were following the win over Minnesota.

Ohio State is looking dominant and handling teams the way that you would expect a top team to do. CBS has them higher than the polls and has slotted the Buckeyes in at No. 2 in America in their rankings.

Kickoff between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Ohio State Buckeyes is set for Saturday, Oct. 5 at 2:30 p.m. CT and will air on CBS.
