The Iowa Hawkeyes are busy attempting to create a pipeline to Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfurt, Ill.
Iowa offered class of 2025 edge rusher and defensive end Caden O’Rourke. The Hawkeyes represent the first Power 5 offer for the rising defensive lineman. He finished the 2022 season with 51 tackles, 10 sacks and six tackles for loss.
O’Rourke is teammates with current class of 2024 commit Josh Janowski. Janowski announced his pledge to the Hawkeyes back in January, choosing Iowa over offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio) and Toledo.
O’Rourke is also the younger brother of Devin O’Rourke, a former four-star signee with the Northwestern Wildcats in the 2018 class. Devin O’Rourke registered 28 tackles, three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks last season with Northwestern.
Caden is currently listed as a 6-foot-5, 205 pound recruit. In addition to Iowa, he also holds offers from Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Illinois State, Kent State and Toledo. Per Rivals, O’Rourke visited Northwestern on Jan. 28 and Illinois on April 7. Rivals also lists Michigan, Northern Illinois, Purdue and Wisconsin as programs with interest.
