The No. 4 Iowa Hawkeyes hit the road tonight to battle the Northwestern Wildcats.
Iowa (19-2, 8-1 Big Ten) heads to Evanston, Ill., where another packed crowd will be on hand inside Welsh Ryan Arena. The Hawkeyes enter after a convincing win over Nebraska.
Senior guard Caitlin Clark came alive after halftime, pouring in 28 of her 38 points in the second half. She knocked down six 3-pointers after halftime as the Hawkeyes cruised to a 92-73 win over the Huskers. Clark also pulled down 10 rebounds to secure her 53rd career double-double.
Meanwhile, graduate guard Kate Martin had another strong performance, scoring 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting with five rebounds, four assists and a steal. Junior guard Sydney Affolter rounded out Iowa’s double-figure scorers against the Huskers with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting.
Northwestern (7-13, 2-7 Big Ten) enters on a four-game losing streak where each loss came by 11 or more points. The No. 9 Indiana Hoosiers rolled away from Northwestern 100-59 on Sunday and the Wildcats’ last win was against at Wisconsin on Jan. 10.
