The Iowa Hawkeyes gave fans their first glance of the team inside Kinnick Stadium in 2024 when they held their annual Kids’ Day and open practice.
There were plenty of ups and downs during the open practice that fans noted and have begun discussing with Week 1 just under three weeks away.
Head coach Kirk Ferentz felt the day was productive but also knows there are still some unknowns that need to be answered as the season nears its start. The quarterback play, or what may come of it, looms large for the Hawkeyes.
The defense did its usual thing and looked rather dominant against the offense as they do against most offenses nationwide. The special teams, which is always a focal point for the Hawkeyes, looked in midseason form and were doing their part.
