The Iowa Hawkeyes (4-0) visit the Maryland Terrapins (4-0) Friday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. Below, we look at the Iowa vs. Maryland odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.
The Hawkeyes are fifth in the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA Today Sports. They don’t have a win over a top-25 program since Indiana and Iowa State’s drastic decline. With Penn State next week, this will be another good gauge to see where they’re at. Iowa is led by phenom RB Tyler Goodson.
While Maryland comes in unranked, it placed fifth among those missing out on the top 25 with 59 votes. With Ohio State on deck this could be a statement game for the Terrapins.
They are led by QB Taulia Tagovailoa, Tua Tagovailoa’s brother. He has 1,340 passing yards and 10 touchdowns through four games.

Iowa at Maryland odds, lines, picks and predictions
Prediction
Iowa 31, Maryland 27
Money line
BET on IOWA (-180) as the Hawkeyes are unblemished up until this point.
Iowa has won every game by 10 or more points and has defeated two teams that were ranked in the top 20 in the preseason poll. Down 14-7 at half time against Colorado State, Iowa rallied and outscored its opponent 17-0 in the second half.
Against the spread
BET on IOWA -3.5 (-107) as the best value in the ball game. Maryland is a competent side, but it’s difficult to trust the Terrapins after they gave up over 300 yards through the air to Kent State.
They were also down entering the fourth quarter against West Virginia and barely survived a weak Illinois team. Maryland really hasn’t faced much competition yet.
While the Terrapins are still undefeated, I’d back the Hawkeyes to have a strong showing on the road.
Over/Under
BET the OVER 47.5 (-110).
The Hawkeyes are averaging 28.8 points per game and have faced four FBS schools. The Terrapins are sitting at 37.3 points per game for the 31st-best scoring offense, and they’re tied for the fifth-most field goals in FBS.
Tagovailoa has the seventh-most passing yards in the FBS, as well. Combine his abilities with the Hawkeyes’ run game, and you should get plenty of scoring Friday.
