A light heavyweight clash is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night on May 1 as [autotag]Ion Cutelaba[/autotag] will take on [autotag]Devin Clark[/autotag] in an event that does not yet have an official location.
A person with knowledge of the situation recently confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. MMA DNA was first to report the news.
Cutelaba (15-6 MMA, 4-5 UFC) has lost three of his past four and is coming off back-to-back stoppage losses to Magomed Ankalaev. After a controversial ending to his first bout with Ankalaev in February 2020, the pair ran things back last October at UFC 254, where Anklaev was able to score another first-round finish. Cutelaba’s last win came in September 2019, when he stopped Khalil Rountree by TKO in Round 1.
Riding a two-fight winning streak with a unanimous decision win over Dequan Townsend and a big upset of Alonzo Menifield, Clark (12-5 MMA, 6-5 UFC) saw a halt in his momentum when he was submitted in the first round by former title challenger Anthony Smith in the main event of UFC on ESPN 18 last November.
With the addition, the latest UFC Fight Night lineup includes:
- Dominick Reyes vs. Jiri Prochazka
- T.J. Brown vs. Kai Kamaka III
- Dean Barry vs. Mike Jackson
- Poliana Botelho vs. Ji Yeon Kim
- Damon Jackson vs. T.J. Laramie
- KB Bhullar vs. Andreas Michailidis
- Devin Clark vs. Ion Cutelaba
