Indianapolis Colts running back Benny LeMay faces a fine from the NFL following a ridiculous taunting penalty called against him during the preseason opener on Aug. 15, but he may have some helping paying it off.
After LeMay was fined $3,667 for showing emotion after carrying a pile of men 10 yards on a strong run, investor Anthony Pompliano offered to pay the fine for the young running back.

The league is hoping to crack down on taunting amongst players but in doing so, they have run the risk of suppressing the emotion players show throughout the game.
In an extremely physical sport where so many players are doing everything they can to stay on the active roster from week to week, the players shouldn’t be punished for celebrating a good play. This is especially true when considering how weak the call was against LeMay who spent more time hyping himself up than talking to his opponent.
It isn’t clear if LeMay will take up Pompliano on his offer to pay the fine, but it’s a nice gesture regardless.
