Duce Robinson’s recruitment has been a prolonged drama, but if you have been following this story here at Trojans Wire, you know that Robinson intends to make his decision on April 1.
USC hopes this upcoming April Fools’ Day offers no more abrupt plot twists. The Trojans have been involved in a recruitment which has meandered and veered all over the place, but they have received some crystal ball projections and are certainly at the forefront of this specific chase.
Robinson isn’t an ordinary tight end. There is a hope — if not an expectation — that he could be a tight end in the same way that Florida’s Kyle Pitts (now with the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL) was a tight end. In other words, Robinson could be a field-stretching player who might technically play tight end, but provides the playmaking and downfield pass-catching ability belonging to a wide receiver.
Robinson could also give USC baseball a shot in the arm, since he is a top baseball prospect who wants to play two sports in college.
