Tennessee saw its long losing streak in the Southeastern Conference Tournament continue Wednesday.
The Volunteers thought they nabbed a walk-off victory only to have the winning run taken off the board due to an interference call.
The No. 2 seeded Vols went on to fall to No. 10 Alabama, 3-2, in 11 innings at the Hoover Met in Hoover, Alabama.
The Vols (42-15) have not won an SEC Tournament game since 2007.
Tennessee fell behind the Crimson Tide (31-22), 2-0, as Alabama’s Jackson Tate drove in the first two runs of the contest.
Tate, the Crimson Tide’s left fielder, drove in a run with a groundout in the second inning before picking up his second RBI of the game when he drew a walk with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth.
The Big Orange pulled even with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Tennessee took advantage of Alabama’s shaky defense in the frame as the Crimson Tide allowed Luc Lipcius and Jordan Beck to reach base on consecutive errors.
UT scored a pair of runs in the frame despite also being called for interference in that inning.
Lipcius scored on a single by Connor Pavolony before Liam Spence brought home Christian Scott with a hit.
The Vols came up with a rally in the ninth and appeared to score the winning run, but it was taken off the board when Max Ferguson was called for interference.
The Crimson Tide won the game in the top of the 11th when Owen Diodati hit a single that plated Sam Praytor.
The Vols will take on No. 3 Mississippi State in an elimination game at 10:30 a.m. EDT. The game will be broadcasted on SEC Network.
