Inter Miami has announced the club has signed fullback Harvey Neville to a professional contract through the 2024 season, with club options for 2025 and 2026.
Neville, 20, is the son of the club’s head coach Phil Neville, and nephew of former England defender and current pundit Gary Neville.
After signing for Inter Miami II, the club’s reserve team in May 2021, Neville has impressed in USL League One and this year in MLS Next Pro. Prior to joining Miami, Neville spent time in the academies of Valencia and Manchester United.
Neville, who has represented Ireland at the youth international level, can play on either flank as a fullback and can also play in midfield.
“Harvey has developed well over these last two seasons with Inter Miami CF II. We’re pleased with his progress as a young player in our system and feel his versatility will offer us cover in a number of areas,” said Inter Miami sporting director Chris Henderson in a club release.
Neville may not be the only son of a famous ex-England player to join the club’s MLS setup in the near future.
Romeo Beckham, son of Inter Miami owner David, has been starring alongside Neville for the club’s reserves in 2022, including scoring his first professional goal on a free kick last month.
