Instant reactions to Texas A&M football team victory at Florida to begin SEC schedule

Not even Mother Nature could get in the way of the Texas A&M football team beginning SEC play with a dominant win on the road this weekend.

Not even Mother Nature could get in the way of the Texas A&M football team beginning conference action with a convincing victory on the road this weekend.

The Aggies (2-1, 1-0 SEC) beat Florida (1-2, 0-1) by a final score of 33-20 on Saturday afternoon at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville. Texas A&M jumped out to a 10-0 lead after one quarter before having momentum halted by a 47-minute lightning delay.

The advantage was extended to 20-0 at halftime and 33-7 with 5:29 left in the third period. Therefore, the win was much more dominant than it may seem off first glance.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Marcel Reed started in place of junior QB Conner Weigman, who suffered an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder during the season-opening loss against Notre Dame. Reed delivered another remarkable performance, this time with more stakes than in the Texas Bowl last year.

Next up for the Aggies is a matchup at Kyle Field with Bowling Green on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
