The Alabama Crimson Tide were back in action Saturday afternoon during Week 3, as the program traveled north for a rare road game in the Big Ten against the Wisconsin Badgers.
A game in which the Crimson Tide won by a final score of 42-10, here are a few of our instant reactions to Saturday’s victory over the Badgers.
Offensive line back to full strength
Alabama had their full starting offensive line Saturday for the first time this season, as left tackle Kadyn Proctor returned from injury. In addition to the return of Proctor, Elijah Pritchett also started at right tackle Saturday after coming off the bench in Week 2, while the offensive line altogether had a bounce back performance compared to a week ago.
Ryan Williams continues to impress
True freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams continued his stellar start to the year Saturday by catching his fourth touchdown pass of the year. In all, the freshman finished with four receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown, while also returning a punt for 20 yards.
Third down defense
Last week, Alabama’s defense was strong on third downs as they held South Florida to a combined 2-for-18 during Week 2. On Saturday, Alabama held Wisconsin to a combined 3-for-14 in the win, as well as 3-for-4 on fourth down.
James Burnip has big day
Alabama punter James Burnip enjoyed a big day, punting four times for an average of 53 yards per punt. Burnip also downed three punts inside the 20, and had a long of 64 yards.
Jalen Milroe shines
Lastly, it’s hard to talk about everything from Saturday, and not mention what Jalen Milroe did at quarterback. Milroe completed 12-of-17 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 75 yards and two more scores on 14 attempts.
