The Baltimore Ravens are a team that values tight ends quite a bit. After selecting both Hayden Hurst and Mark Andrews in the 2018 draft to pair with Nick Boyle, Hurst was traded during the 2020 offseason and the team hasn’t been able to find a replacement for him ever since. However, they’re trying to do just that in 2022, selecting Iowa State tight end Charlie Kolar.
Kolar is a huge player for his postion, standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing around 255 pounds. He can run a multitude of routes, and put together an impressive college career with the Cyclones that inlcuded 168 catches for 2,181 yards and 23 touchdowns.
Kolar should be able to fill in nicely behind Andrews and Boyle. He offers a very intriguing skillset, and with how much the Ravens’ offense values tight ends, could make an immediate impact during his rookie season as a target for quarterback Lamar Jackson.
