Instant analysis of Ravens’ 34-6 win over Chargers

We dive into an instant analysis of the Ravens’ 34-6 win over the Chargers in Week 6

The Baltimore Ravens made a statement in Week 6, defeating the Los Angeles Chargers by the final score of 34-6. Baltimore dominated the game from start to finish, putting on a show in all three phases.

On offense, quarterback Lamar Jackson finished the day completing 19-27 passes for 167 yards, throwing one touchdown and two interceptions. One of Jackson’s interceptions was his fault, as it appeared he didn’t see a linebacker dropping into coverage and threw it right to him. The other was the fault of wide receiver Rashod Bateman, as the ball bounced off him and into the hands of a defender.

The Ravens were able to get their ground game going to the tune of 4.8 yards per carry. Each of Baltimore’s three active running backs were able to score a touchdown, and the team was able to take advantage of a porous Los Angeles run defense.

Baltimore’s defense had an amazing bounce back performance, holding the Chargers to just 4.4 yards per pass and 2.2 yards per rush. They made life difficult for Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert, and never let Los Angeles get anything going on the ground.

In a game that many expected to be a high-scoring shootout, only one team ended up putting together a great offensive performance. The win against the Chargers cements the fact that despite all that the Ravens have been through, they are true contenders in 2021, and one of the top teams in the entire NFL.

Baltimore moves to 5-1 on the year, and will face the Cincinnati Bengals at home in Week 7.
