Even without star forward [autotag]Angel Reese[/autotag], who was absent on Friday night, LSU had no issues dispatching an in-state opponent in its first true road game of the year as it beat Southeastern Louisiana 73-50 in Hammond, the home town of coach [autotag]Kim Mulkey[/autotag].
LSU’s offense took a bit of a hit in this one, shooting just 41.3% for the game. [autotag]Flau’Jae Johnson[/autotag] stepped up in Reese’s absence, leading the team with 17 points despite coming off the bench. [autotag]Hailey Van Lith[/autotag], [autotag]Mikaylah Williams[/autotag] and [autotag]Aneesah Morrow[/autotag] all also scored in double figures in the game.
It was a good defensive performance for the Tigers, who held the Lions under 40% shooting and forced 18 total turnovers. LSU dominated the boards, outrebounding SELA 41-23. We’ll await news regarding Reese’s status, but for now, LSU will enjoy the win before it returns home to host Texas Southern on Monday night.
