Injury updates for Broncos CB Riley Moss after Raiders game

Broncos CB Riley Moss is dealing with a knee injury. Here are the latest updates.

Story update: Broncos CB Riley Moss (knee) missed all three days of practice this week and has been ruled out for a Monday Night Football clash with the Cleveland Browns in Week 13. See our original post below.

Denver Broncos second-year cornerback Riley Moss left Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders with a knee injury in the second quarter and was later ruled out in the third quarter. We will be tracking Moss injury updates on this page in the coming days.

Riley Moss injury update

After the game, Broncos coach Sean Payton indicated that it does not appear to be a serious injury. “Fortunately, it wasn’t really serious with Riley,” Payton said after a 29-19 win. “It’s an MCL. I’m not going to give anything. We’ll see how next week is. There was some thought he could go back in. We’ll see where it’s at.” That’s certainly a positive update.

How long will Riley Moss be out?

The fact that the team considered putting Moss back in the game on Sunday seems like a very good sign, but it remains to be seen if he will be available to play against the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football in Week 13. We’ll know more about Moss’ status when the team returns to practice later this week and begins releasing injury updates.

Levi Wallace filled in for Moss against the Raiders and he would likely start if Moss has to miss any games. Wallace and Pat Surtain played as the team’s outside cornerbacks with Ja’Quan McMillian playing in the slot. Denver also has Damarri Mathis, Tremon Smith and Kris Abrams-Draine at cornerback.

Moss, 24, has eight pass breakups and one interception this season.
