Injury Report: Wide receiver depth gets major boost after bye with return of Steven Sims

Sims is available to be activated from the IR this week, and his potential return could mean big things for the WR depth chart.

When the Washington Football Team took on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7, one of the biggest concerns on the roster came from the wide receiver position, where injuries had completely depleted the depth chart. Steven Sims Jr. was out, Isaiah Wright was out, Antonio Gandy-Golden was out, and newly signed Robert Foster was unable to clear COVID  protocols in time to play.

Now that the team has been given a chance to rest up a bit, things are looking much brighter on that front, as was apparent on Wednesday afternoon. Though Sims has yet to be activated from the injured reserve, he looked good on the field on Wednesday, and is eligible to return this week. Both Wright and Foster were seen on the field as well, though Gandy-Golden remained on the sideline doing limited work.

Elsewhere on the field, LT Geron Christian returned to the field, though it was OL Cornelius Lucas who seemed to get the bulk of the first-team reps on the offensive line, which we will keep an eye on for the rest of the week.
