Injury Report: Warriors’ Steph Curry (tailbone) out vs. Grizzlies on Friday

To start a two-game road series against the Grizzlies, the Warriors will be without Steph Curry due to a tailbone injury on Friday.

With James Wiseman and Eric Paschall out for seven days in the NBA’s health and safety protocol, another key member of the Golden State Warriors will be sidelined on Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies.

After suffering an injury against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, Steph Curry has been ruled out for game one of a back-to-back series against the Grizzlies on Friday night. Following a missed triple at the end of the third quarter in Houston, Curry took a fall while backpedaling near Houston’s bench.

In a pregame virtual presser on Friday, Steve Kerr told reporters Curry is still sore from his fall in Houston.

The seven-time All-Star tallied 18 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the field with eight assists and five rebounds before missing the entire fourth quarter in Golden State’s 108-94 win.

With Curry on the bench, Kerr will opt for Jordan Poole in the starting lineup against the Grizzlies.

Since returning from the G League bubble in Orlando, the second-year guard is averaging 19 points on 54% from the field with 2.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per contest.

Against the Rockets, Poole led the Warriors with a team-high 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field in 24 minutes off the bench. The Michigan product caught fire from deep, hitting six triples on 11 attempts.
