Injury Report: Steve Kerr says Draymond Green (ankle) will play against Trail Blazers on Wednesday

After suffering an ankle injury against the Lakers, Steve Kerr says Draymond Green is slated to play on Wednesday against the Blazers.

During Sunday’s blowout loss to the Los Angeles Lakers that snapped a three-game winning streak, one of the Golden State Warriors’ former All-Stars was sidelined due to an injury.

Trailing by 29 at halftime, Draymond Green was ruled out for the second half with a sprained ankle at Staples Center. In the second quarter, the former Defensive Player of the Year appeared to roll his ankle while playing defense on a fastbreak.

Yet, after two days off, Green’s absence from the lineup doesn’t appear to be lasting long. During a video conference with reporters on Tuesday, Steve Kerr said he expects Green to play against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Kerr added Green practiced fully on Tuesday.

Prior to his injury in Hollywood, Green was riding a triple-double performance against the Charlotte Hornets that featured a new-career high 19 assists. The Michigan State product led the NBA with 149 dimes.

To survive a road back-to-back to end the first half of the season, the Warriors will need Green to pick up where he left off in February despite the sprained ankle injury.
