Injury Report: Steph Curry set to miss another week after MRI shows inflammation in tailbone

After missing three games, Steph Curry is set to be sidelined for more time after an MRI showed inflammation in his injured tailbone.

While the Golden State Warriors got some needed reinforcements with the return of James Wiseman, Eric Paschall and Kevon Looney against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Warriors are still without their seven-time All-Star guard.

After a fall in the third quarter against the Houston Rockets, Steph Curry has been sidelined with a tailbone contusion. With Curry already ruled out for Golden State’s last three games, the point guard is set to miss more time.

On Tuesday, Steve Kerr told reporters an MRI revealed inflammation in Curry’s tailbone. Following Curry’s MRI, the Warriors have ruled him out for the next week before re-evaluating his tailbone injury.

We’re going to re-evaluate in a week. He (Curry) got an MRI this morning and it showed inflammation in that tailbone. He had made some progress the first couple of days just resting. He did a little bit more work yesterday and it was still pretty sore. So, our training staff and Steph put their heads together and decided this is going to be a little bit longer than we thought and hoped. We will re-evaluate in a week. Which means he will miss the next three games.

Following his absence from Golden State’s battle with the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, Curry is slated to miss games against the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls.

Without Curry, the Warriors will continue to lean on Jordan Poole in the starting lineup. The second-year guard has taken advantage of his increased role, averaging 23.3 points on 48.1% shooting from the field with 3.3 rebounds and three assists over his last three games as a starter.
