Injury Report: Draymond Green (ankle) ruled out for season opener vs. Suns

The Golden State Warriors will be without a former All-Star in the frontcourt to open the season on Tuesday against the Suns.

After missing the entire preseason and most of training camp, the Golden State Warriors will be without Draymond Green in the regular-season opener on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Warriors ruled Green out for Tuesday’s opener against the Phoenix Suns at San Francisco’s Chase Center due to an ankle injury. Green was recently cleared to return to full 5-on-5 workouts with the team at practice. However, his return to the court will come after the start of the regular season.

Without Green, Steve Kerr will have to figure out a way to slow the Suns’ new-look trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

New Warrior and former Sun Chris Paul will likely enter the starting lineup. Jonathan Kuminga and Dario Saric could see increased roles off the bench on Tuesday night with Green out.

Tipoff between the Suns and Warriors is set for 7 p.m. PT on Tuesday evening in San Francisco.
