Injured Josh Richardson has begun to ramp up activity, playing 2-on-2

Philadelphia 76ers guard Josh Richardson is beginning to ramp up his basketball activity in his recovery.

While the Philadelphia 76ers are trying to get their act together on the road, they are also monitoring the health and recovery from Josh Richardson who has missed four games so far since straining his left hamstring on January 22.

While he will definitely miss Monday night’s matchup with the Miami Heat, the good news is that Richardson has begun to ramp up his basketball activity. He has begun to do some light running and he has been playing in some 2-on-2 with light contact with assistant coaches. All of that news means he is beginning to progress well and he is on the right track.

At the team’s morning shootaround in preparation for the game, Richardson showed off some running as he begins the recovery process. A hamstring injury is always touchy due to them being tough injuries in general, but the fact that he can run a little bit now is a good sign.

The Sixers and the Heat matchup on Monday night with Philadelphia looking to make a move up the standings in the East. It’s going to be tough without the services of Richardson. [lawrence-related id=24792,24811,24802]
