IndyCar silly season heats up with recent big moves for 2025

The IndyCar Series silly season is heating up with recent big moves for 2025. Check out the current landscape of the IndyCar silly season!

The NTT IndyCar Series silly season is heating up. After winning the 2024 Indianapolis 500, Josef Newgarden signed a contract extension with Team Penske, taking the biggest driver off the market. Then, Arrow McLaren shockingly signed Nolan Siegel to a multi-year deal to drive the No. 6 car for the remainder of 2024 and beyond, replacing Theo Pourchaire.

Several significant drivers are available, such as Pourchaire, Alexander Rossi, Christian Lungaard, Rinus VeeKay, and more. With Siegel and Pato O’Ward locked in for the 2025 season, Arrow McLaren has to decide what to do with Rossi unless it wants another young driver for its third seat. Lungaard is one of IndyCar’s prized young drivers and has been a hot commodity.

Meanwhile, PREMA Racing is ready to join the IndyCar Series and has two openings. The organization should appeal to young drivers, as it has developed drivers for Formula 1 well, but as the team desires, at least one of those seats should go to a veteran driver. The IndyCar silly season is heating up, and it will only get crazier moving forward.
