The start time for the Indianapolis 500 has been delayed due to the ongoing threat of bad weather, according to the latest operations update issued by the NTT IndyCar Series. The new start time is yet to be determined.
The delayed start also includes a delay to the pre-race ceremony and driver introductions. Although there has yet to be any rainfall at the track as of 11:40am local time, the entire Speedway is under a weather advisory due to the threat of lightning, meaning that teams have been instructed to clear pitlane, and fans have been asked to leave the grandstands and seek shelter.
