The city of Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium were ranked 12th among football travel destinations by Ben Volin of The Boston Globe.
“12. Indianapolis: Has a great little downtown scene of restaurants and bars, plenty of hotels, and a stadium that is a 10-minute walk from everything.”
These rankings are based on the fans’ experience and from the perspective of a fan. Volin noted that “tourist attractions, weather, stadium atmosphere, ticket availability, and accessibility to the stadium” are all factors that go into the rankings of every NFL team.
Topping the list was New Orleans because of the atmosphere and culture around the stadium. Coming in at the bottom of the ranking was Cincinnati.
The Colts and Lucas Oil Stadium have long been at the top of rankings when it comes to venues across the league and now it seems the Circle City is getting a bit of respect as well for the atmosphere surrounding weekends in the fall.
