Indianapolis Colts with scout(s) at Georgia vs. Texas game

The Indianapolis Colts had members of their personnel department at Saturday’s college football matchup between Georgia and Texas.

Not surprisingly, in Saturday’s heavy-weight college football matchup between Georgia and Texas, a number of NFL teams were in attendance for this matchup, including the Indianapolis Colts.

Georgia entered the game as the No. 5 team in the country, and Texas was No. 1. But it was the Bulldogs who controlled the game, winning 30-15.

According to the Senior Bowl’s Jim Nagy, the Colts, along with Buffalo, Chicago, Denver, Miami, Jacksonville, and several others, had scouts and/or front-office personnel at the game.

This isn’t the first time that the Colts have had members of their personnel staff at a Georgia game this season. Teams sending scouts to college games is a weekly occurrence during the college football season and provides personnel departments with the opportunity to see players up close and live.

With help from Pro Football Focus’ early 2025 big board, here are some of the top draft-eligible prospects playing in this game that may have had the attention of the Colts’ scouting department–all of which, based on PFF”s rankings, play for Georgia.

S Malaki Starks (Georgia)
WR Isaiah Bond (Texas)
OT Kelvin Banks (Texas)
OT Cameron Williams (Texas)
ED Mykel Williams (Georgia)
CB Jahdae Barron (Texas)
LB Jalon Walker (Georgia)
IOL Tate Ratledge (Georgia)
TE Gunnar Helm (Texas)

Of course between now and the NFL draft, a lot is going to change. Team needs can change based on how the rest of the season plays out along with what happens in free agency, and players will move up and down draft boards.

However, some current positions of need for the Colts that could be on their radar next April include cornerback, safety, tight end, running back, and defensive tackle depth.
