Indianapolis Colts vs. Dolphins: Miami with 8 players on final injury report

The Miami Dolphins had eight players listed on their final injury report ahead of Sunday’s Week 7 game vs. the Colts.

For Sunday’s game with the Miami Dolphins, the Indianapolis Colts have ruled out Jonathan Taylor and Chris Lammons, downgraded EJ Speed to doubtful, and have five other players listed as questionable.

But what about the Miami injury report? The Dolphins have six players questionable for this matchup, one is listed as doubtful, and another that’s been downgraded to out.

Here is what you need to know:

S Jevon Holland (hand) – doubtful: Holland is one of Miami’s starting safeties. He moves around but has spent most of his time as the free safety and has played well in run support by PFF’s metrics.

LB David Long (knee) – questionable: Another key defender for the Dolphins, Long leads the linebacker position group in snaps and is second on the team in solo tackles.

Edge Emmanuel Ogbah (bicep) – questionable: As Adam Stites of Dolphins Wire noted, Ogbah being on the injury report is “troubling,” given that Miami is already thin at this position. Ogbah is third on the team in pressures and tied for first in sacks.

CB Cam Smith (hamstring) – out: Miami’s top selection in the 2023 NFL draft, Smith will remain on injured reserve after originally being listed as questionable before being downgraded to out.

QB Skylar Thompson (ribs) – questionable: Tyler Huntley is the team’s starting quarterback with Tua Tagovailoa out. Thompson has completed 21-of-33 passes this season for 187 yards. Of note, Tim Boyle was signed to the active roster, perhaps a sign that Thompson will be inactive.

WR Odell Beckham (hamstring/personal) – questionable: Beckham made his debut in the team’s Week 5 matchup with New England. He had one target and no receptions while playing 11 snaps.

LS Blake Ferguson (personal) – questionable: Miami announced on Saturday that Ferguson was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list. He will be out. In his place, the team signed Matt Overton to the practice squad and elevated him for this game.

OL Austin Jackson (back) – questionable: Jackson is the team’s starting right tackle. He’s given up 11 pressures and two sacks this season, according to PFF, and has a run-blocking grade of 64.8.
