Indianapolis Colts release CB Gregory Junior from practice squad

The Indianapolis Colts released CB Gregory Junior from the practice squad, allowing them to make an addition at kicker.

On Monday afternoon, the Indianapolis Colts made a pair of moves on their practice squad.

This included bringing back kicker Spencer Shrader and releasing cornerback Gregory Junior as the corresponding move to make room.

The Colts originally signed Junior to the practice squad prior to their Week 3 matchup with the Chicago Bears. With question marks around the depth at the cornerback position on the 53-man roster, the Colts have gone heavy at this position on the practice squad all season.

Junior was a sixth-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022. Over his career, he has played in 10 NFL games with 112 snaps on defense and 110 on special teams, 105 of which came in 2023 with the Jaguars.

Defensively, Junior has lined up both in the slot and on the boundary, according to PFF.

Still on the practice squad at the cornerback position for Indianapolis is Alex Johnson, Kelvin Johnson, David Long, and Jaylin Simpson.

With the team having waived Dallis Flowers on Monday as well, a cornerback will have to be added to the 53-man. Barring an outside addition, I would guess that Long is signed to the active roster. He has been a practice squad elevation in each of the last two weeks.
