Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans, head coach Shane Steichen announced after Friday’s practice.

Richardson has been working through an oblique injury that he suffered in the first half of the Colts’ eventual Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Before exiting the game, Richardson was off to a fast start in that game, completing 3-of-4 passes for 71 yards, including a pair of explosive plays of 32 yards and 28 yards to Michael Pittman. He also rushed for 24 yards and sustained the injury on a hit during one of those carries.
Richardson practiced all three days last week in a limited capacity and was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report ahead of the team’s Week 5 matchup with Jacksonville. On that Saturday, Richardson was downgraded to doubtful.
This week, Richardson was again limited on Wednesday, but was a full participant on Thursday. His official practice status for Friday hasn’t been reported at this time, but the general consensus among media members in attendance at practice this week is that Richardson is moving much better.
On Wednesday, Richardson spoke with reporters and was asked what boxes he still needed to check in order to be available for Sunday’s game. Ultimately, Richardson doesn’t need to be 100 percent, but did say he has to have the ability to go out there and be himself on the football field.
“Just making sure I can do what I do on the field,” Richardson said. “Making sure I’m putting myself in the best position, putting the team in the best position. Try not to force anything. Try not to rush anything. If I’m not 100 percent, I’m not 100 percent, but it is what it is. I’m going to try to be the best version of myself.”
The Colts offense will face a stingy Titans’ defense on Sunday. Tennessee, who is coming off their bye week and had extra time to rest and prepare, will enter this game ranked 10th defensively in yards per carry allowed and second in yards per pass attempt surrendered. They’ve also been one of the better units at eliminating big plays.
Jonathan Taylor has already been ruled out, while Michael Pittman, at least as of now, still has a chance to play.
