The Indiana Hoosiers broke two school records Friday night when they thrashed the visiting Western Illinois Leathernecks 77-3.
The 77 points scored is the most in school history with the previous record being 76 (1901 win vs Franklin College).
The Hoosiers also accumulated 701 total yards, while kicker Nicolas Radicic connected on a school record 11 extra points.
The Leathernecks have now lost 26 games in a row.

It had been almost 123 years since the single points scored record was set. A lot has changed in the United States since 1901. Here are some things that came after Indiana topped Franklin College 76-0.
- Plastic was invented (1905)
- First Noble prizes awarded (1910)
- The Titanic makes its maiden and only voyage (1912)
- Talking movies debuted (1927)
- Penicillin created (1928)
- Credit cards introduced (1950)
- First man in space (1961)
- The World Wide Web debuts (1990)
Historic moments makes this record-breaking performance feel like a record that was never meant to be broken.
- Two world wars begin and end
- Prohibition begins and ends
- U.S. suffers three stock market crashes, including two significant depressions
- Two holocausts happen in conjunction with World War II (China, Europe)
- John F. Kennedy assassinated, Ronald Reagan assassination attempted (John McKinley was assassinated six weeks before IU-Franklin in 1901)
The list of events that have taken place is astonishing. What is one even that happened that almost seems surreal to have happened?
Congrats to Indiana. Hopefully it isn’t another 123 years before the football teams scores 77-plus points.
