Immanuel Quickley snaps cold streak to lead Knicks to comeback win

Quickley tied a team-high in scoring to help the Knicks overcome a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Grizzlies.

After struggling a bit coming into Friday night, Immanuel Quickley snapped a recent cold streak to help lead the New York Knicks to a comeback win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Quickley tied a team-high with 20 points to go along with four rebounds and two assists as the Knicks erased a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Grizzlies in overtime, 133-129. Quickley converted on 7-of-12 shots from the field, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range, in 30 minutes of work.

Prior to Friday, Quickley was averaging just 5.2 points on 29.6% shooting from the field over his last five games. He scored in double figures only one time during that span, but stayed ready and hit some crucial shots to help the Knicks to victory.

Despite the recent skid by Quickley, the Knicks maintained their faith in the rookie and that ultimately helped him come up with a big game on Friday. On top of his scoring, he finished a game-high plus-19 on the court as he made his presence felt on both ends of the floor.

With the win, the Knicks kept their ground in the playoff race as they sit eighth in the Eastern Conference, one game up on the Indiana Pacers. The team will certainly be in a heated battle to lock up a playoff berth and will need contributions from every player to achieve that goal.
