In an otherwise forgettable game for the Houston Rockets, head coach Ime Udoka was ejected after a late exchange of words with LeBron James. Both men received technical fouls, but because Udoka already had one from earlier in Saturday’s contest, he was ejected.
Because James did not have an earlier technical, he stayed in.
“We had some conversations, and they didn’t like what they heard,” Udoka said of the officials during his postgame media interview.
When James was asked what Saturday’s heated discussion was about, he wasn’t in the mood to go into specifics, either.
Via Dave McMenamon, James said of the discussion topic:
Thanksgiving. … How much we enjoyed Thanksgiving.
Extended video of the incident is available below. Understandably, fans across social media have attempted to read lips from video footage in hopes of learning the actual substance of the dispute.
Udoka and the Rockets (8-9), who are 0-8 on the road this season, will return to action Wednesday at home versus Oklahoma City. In a stark contrast, the Rockets are 8-1 at Toyota Center.
