Fan attendance at NFL games for the 2020 season is just one of many questions the league has to answer on the fly in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic that still has the country in its grip.
First there was news that the Hall of Fame game would be played sans crowd, then it was outright cancelled. More recently, the entirety of the preseason was nixed from the schedule. In games concerning the Dallas Cowboys, the opener with the Los Angeles Rams will have a cap of 15,000 to open up their new stadium.
One thing is sure, however, those in attendance in any stadium this year, will be required to wear a mask according to the NFL’s public relations team and Adam Schefter.
Fans at NFL games this season now will be required to wear face coverings, per @nflPRguy.

This will certainly bring about its own set of challenges, primarily enforcing a rule in an environment often known for heavy drinking and general unruly behavior. Considering the actions of those who refuse to wear masks to go grocery shopping, the internet fodder will be bountiful. It is one way for the league office to try to generate revenue while offering a modicum of safety.
