Ikaika Malloe, DeShaun Foster rave about Luke Schuermann

A lot of eyes on this transfer from John Hopkins.

The UCLA Bruins football program has quite a bit of new faces on the roster this season.

One of them is a bit unknown but has been making waves early on in camp.

Luke Schuermann, a transfer from Division 3 John Hopkins, is impressing the staff early on, per Ben Bolch of The Los Angeles Times.

“We got some size guys for defensive ends, we got some quick guys, and then I need a motor guy,” Malloe said about Schuermann. “So, as long as we can teach him the technique and he can unlearn some things because our [style of pass rush] is a little bit unorthodox, I think he’ll be a great addition.”

UCLA head coach DeShaun Foster also spoke highly of Schuermann, which is a great sign for his potential: “Everything that you’ve seen that he’s done in college at the D-III level, he’s capable of doing here.”

Schuermann might have landed in the perfect spot, and it will be worth watching to see how he performs in Westwood.
