So this is a big deal, and a major inconvenience for a number of USC fans who rely on Dish Network or Sling TV to watch the Trojans and other college football teams.
Early on a college football Saturday is the worst possible time for satellite, broadcast, or streaming outlets to abruptly have specific channels or services removed from their platter of offerings, but this is exactly what has happened.
The Walt Disney Company was in talks with Dish Network, but those negotiations abruptly ended. Disney reportedly pulled ESPN (plus FX and Disney Channel) from Dish Network and Sling TV early Saturday morning.
So, if you were planning to watch USC’s night game against Arizona State on ESPN via Dish or Sling, you will need a Plan B, barring a last-minute change in the status of Disney-Dish negotiations.
In a statement, a Dish Network spokesperson said Disney walked away from the negotiating table, which meant the company and Sling TV had to pull ESPN and other DIsney-owned channels this morning. https://t.co/qNZuQYYWTY
