North Carolina Tar Heels’ commit Ian Jackson is getting set for his final year of high school basketball, hoping to continue to climb the rankings in the 2024 class. And on Thursday, during an exhibition game, Jackson really impressed.
In a comeback upset win over Prolific Prep, Jackson led all scorers with 32 points while also grabbing 8 rebounds, dishing out 1 assist and had 1 block in the game. Jackson was fantastic as his team came back from a double-digit deficit.
The guard did this against a top team in Prolific Prep that has the No. 1 player in the 2025 class in A.J. Dybansta, who has an offer from UNC.

Jackson’s teammate and Syracuse commit Elijah Moore had 27 in the win.
While it was an exhibition, it’s still a great sign that Jackson was able to put up a big game like especially against the quality of opponent. Jackson is still a five-star recruit and still a top-10-ranked player despite falling in the rankings a little bit.
He’s one of three players committed to North Carolina in the 2024 class, with all three set to sign this week. James Brown and Drake Powell have both signed their letters as Jackson will do so as well on Saturday.
