Ian Jackson jokes about “who?” ahead of UNC’s next game

Ian Jackson had some choice words for the team’s next opponent ahead in-state rivalry game.

North Carolina has been rolling over their last two ACC games. Ever since the loss to Louisville on the road, they went on the road to Indiana, beating Notre Dame by one point providing a huge spark to their win against SMU.

Over those games, freshman Ian Jackson has emerged as one of the top-scoring threats for the Tar Heels. He is averaging over 20 points per game in that span and has paired well with RJ Davis in a one-two-punch scenario.

After the win over SMU, spirits were high with the team and Ian Jackson had jokes when asked about the team’s next opponent. When asked about NC State, Jackson replied, “who?”

Ian Jackson went on to retract his joke in a comment made via SI.

Nah, NC State is a great team. Every team in the ACC is a great team. It’s a hard conference. But we just wanna go out there and play our game. We’re not looking into it as a rivalry. We just want to go out there and win another game in conference play.

He finished with “whatever you guys want to call it” describing the in-state rivalry with the Wolfpack, on SI.

NC State is 8-6 this season and 1-2 against teams in the ACC. They will face off with a UNC basketball team looking for it’s longest winning streak of the season and its fourth win in ACC play. The game will air on ACC Network at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 11th.
