Texas A&M (11-7, 2-3 SEC) evens the series at one apiece with a win on the road over the LSU Tigers (11-7, 3-2 SEC) on Saturday afternoon.
I’m not sure what to think about this Texas A&M team. They showed today that even if Wade Taylor IV misses half the game because of foul trouble, the rest of the team can keep it together.
It wasn’t perfect as they struggled from the charity stripe, going 11-20, but they dominated in second-chance points with an astounding 27-0 advantage. Everyone stepped up this game, and hopefully, they can lean on the experience from this contest to keep marching in the correct direction.
Rebounding was the key difference in this game. The disparity in the second-chance points is a huge takeaway between the first meeting and the second. After the game, coach Buzz Williams spent a lot of time reviewing how much emphasis he put on getting boards when coming to the Maravich Assembly Center.
“They beat us on the glass at their place they had 14 offensive rebounds we had 13. They beat us on the defensive glass they beatus yeah and that hadn’t been happening at all so today we beat them we beat them on the offensive glass 21 to 6 they beat us on the defensive glass 28 to 27 but we offensive rebounded 43% of our misses and we defensive rebounded 82% “
