Before we know it, the dog days of summer will have come and gone and the Iowa Hawkeyes will be hard at work and collectively preparing for the 2023 college football season.
Their work won’t stop between now and then, but there’s some time off before the Hawkeyes will hold organized team practices again. In the meantime, the hope is that Iowa got plenty out of this spring.
In his meeting with the media yesterday, Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz shared his final thoughts on the spring season and on a number of topics with his Hawkeyes.
Most importantly, Ferentz feels he’s seen his team improve throughout the spring.
“We’re hardly a finished product right now, but I believe we have improved. I think the last couple weeks we’re seeing things, sometimes just little things, on film, but things that maybe give you some indication that the players are catching on from something maybe they weren’t doing well two weeks before or even one week before that. Seen plenty of those things,” Ferentz said.
There were plenty of takeaways from Iowa’s lone open spring practice to the public. For those that missed it, here’s a look back at the day that was from inside Kinnick Stadium though these sensational photos.
