The Nebraska Cornhuskers have announced the date for their spring football game. Athletic Director Trev Alberts has announced that the annual Red-White Game will take place on April 27, 2024.
Nebraska’s first game under head coach Matt Rhule came with strict rules.
“We are playing a traditional game (with) a couple modifications,” he said. “You’ll see some different things on special teams, a couple different ways that we’ll do some things that I won’t get into now because I want to surprise everybody.
He also made it clear that everyone would be taking hits during the game.
“The quarterbacks will be live. We’re just going to play a game. We’re trying to learn how to win. There’s an ebb and flow to a football game that I think is really important as you react to the situations, so we’re going to play it out.”
The game featured 15-quarters with NFL clock rules, meaning the clock continued to run after a first down. It’s unknown if Nebraska will use the same rules for the 2024 edition of the game.
