Huskers receive recognition in Fox Sports Top 25 poll

The national media is starting to take notice of Nebraska football.

Fox Sports released their first top 25 rankings of the season on Monday, and Nebraska football made the cut. They premiered at No. 25 in RJ Young’s latest rankings.

The Huskers are coming off an impressive 40-7 win over UTEP on Saturday. In this game, the Huskers compiled 507 yards, 284 passing yards, and 223 rushing yards in a balanced effort.

In the meantime, the Nebraska defense only gave up 205 total yards to UTEP. Multiple defenders got in on the action Saturday afternoon, and the defensive line swarmed. The unit recorded 31 tackles and one sack on the afternoon.

The Huskers were able to open some eyes in the victory, and that included Young. He put the Huskers in his poll and gave them a positive review.

“Dylan Raiola not only looked the part of a five-star phenom at quarterback for one of the proudest programs in college football history, he also managed to do what Jeff Sims and Henrich Haarberg struggled to do as starters in 2023 — take care of the football. Raiola’s next turnover will be his first.”

Saturday’s game against Colorado will give Nebraska an even more challenging test. At the very least, they are receiving recognition early.
