Huskers offer highly-touted Texas quarterback recruit

The Huskers continue to recruit in the state of Texas.

Nebraska football offered 2027 four-star quarterback Jerry Meyer III on Thursday. Meyer made the announcement on social media earlier this week.

He is not ranked in the 247Sports rankings. However, he does have an offer sheet that is continuing to grow. In addition to the Huskers, Baylor, Ole Miss, Purdue, and SMU are among the ten offers he has.

Meyer enters the collegiate ranks with a bit of pedigree. As a freshman, he threw 58 touchdowns at Lake Mead Academy in Las Vegas. He won the program’s first state championship as well.

Currently, he has 1,798 yards and 13 touchdowns for Waxahachie in Texas. According to statistics from Maxpreps.com, he has also been able to perform consistently, averaging 299 passing yards per game.

Nebraska football has done well in quarterback recruiting over the last couple of classes. Adding Meyer would continue to add solid talent to the room. In addition, the coaching staff can recruit at a high level in Texas.
