A class of 2026 quarterback committed to the Nebraska football program on Sunday. Dayton Raiola announced his decision on Instagram.
He is the younger brother of current Husker quarterback Dylan Raiola. The younger Raiola is not yet ranked in the 247Sports Composite rankings but does have a growing offer sheet. In addition to Nebraska, Appalachian State and Charlotte have made offers.
Raiola currently plays at Buford High School in Georgia. He is the first commitment for Nebraska football in the class of 2026.
The quarterback noted that Nebraska football utilized the whole coaching staff to recruit him. He told HuskerMax’s Caleb Sisk the hands-on recruiting process had an impact on him.
”I really feel like Uncle Donny (Donovan Raiola), coach (Marcus) Satterfield, coach (Matt) Rhule, coach (Glenn) Thomas, and coach (Garret) McGuire influenced it the most because every time they see me there are always big smiles on their faces and that means a lot to me.”
This is certainly a promising commitment for the Huskers, as Raiola has a strong arm and solid mechanics. His development over the next couple of years will be fascinating to watch.
At the very least, the Huskers have their quarterback for the future and are keeping things in the family. Given the Raiola family bloodlines, that is certainly not a bad thing.
