Nebraska soccer capped off the regular season on the road at Illinois. The Huskers dominated early on and managed to fend off the Fighting Illini to capture the 4-2 win.

All four goals by Nebraska came from four different players: Abbey Schwarz, Eleanor Dale, Lauryn Anglim and Sarah Weber. Each goal by the Huskers emerged in the first half. Anglim got the ball rolling with the first goal, which was confirmed following a video review.

Dale joined the scoresheet almost 10 minutes later, snatching her 23rd goal of the season. With the goal, Dale is now tied for third in school history for goals in a season and is four goals shy of the record set by Kim Engesser in 1998.

Anglim kept it going just about five minutes after Dale, reflecting Nebraska’s high-powered offense it’s had all season. Weber rounded out the goals in the game four minutes before halftime, pushing the Huskers’ season total to 51.

With the win, Nebraska wraps up the regular season with a record of 13-2-3. This makes it the Huskers’ best regular season since 2013 when they finished 15-3-1.

With the win, the Huskers clinched a share of the Big Ten regular season title. Nebraska now awaits its opponent for the Big Ten Quarterfinals, which it’ll host on Sunday. The time of the match and the viewing platform are to be determined.
