A Nebraska women’s basketball player has been named a member of the All-Big Ten first-team. Alexis Markowski earned the conference honor on Monday evening.
Markowski has averaged 15.8 points and 10.7 rebounds per game for the Cornhuskers this season. She is one of three Big Ten players to average a double-double during the regular season, joining Wisconsin’s Serah Williams and Illinois’ Kendall Bostic.
This is the first All-Big Ten first-team honor for the Lincoln, Nebraska native. She was named second-team All-Big Ten in 2022 and 2023 and was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2022.
Joining Markowski in postseason honors is senior guard Jaz Shelley. The Australian was named second-team All-Big Ten team on Monday. Shelley averaged 12.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists a game.
Nebraska will continue their season on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament.
