After North Carolina was stunned at home losing to Clemson on Tuesday night, two players and head coach Hubert Davis noted that the practices leading up in to the game weren’t something they liked. They also noted that a few players were late to the pregame shootaround.
That glaring detail was the topic of conversation this past week as the Tar Heels head into Miami for a Saturday afternoon showdown with Miami. And ahead of that game, Davis noted a change that he saw in his team’s practice habits.
Here is what Davis said about the practices via Tar Heel Illustrated:
#UNC Coach Hubert Davis says the practices have been much better since the Clemson game. Says the talking is good as well.

Now, ahead of the game that’s a good sign. Especially after what happened before that loss to Clemson and how that game ended. But the only thing that matters right now is how they respond at Miami on Saturday.
Still, you don’t want to see this become an ongoing thing and it was pretty shocking to see it happen even the first time. It was a little uncharacteristic from this team. But it does feel like Davis addressed it and the energy should be there come Saturday afternoon.
